Declan's medical needs will be ongoing. Currently, we do two Physical Therapy and one Occupational Therapy appointment a week. But in addition to that, we are constantly on the phone with his doctor team at Duke and Nationwide Children's Hospital as well as his regular Pediatrician. He also sees an Orthotic. These appointments usually take half a day or more of time away from our jobs, house work, etc.

Sometimes people think, oh I can't do anything that would be of any help. But let me tell you, it all helps when you have very little time and need to focus on your child's health and well being.

So what does that look like exactly? Here are some ideas that we would greatly appreciate especially when we go out of town for Declan's Treatments or when we (Brendan and I) need to meet with Declan's Care Team:
-
Babysitting
-
Dog-sitting
-
House Sitting
-
Freezer meals for when we get back from a long road trip to treatment!

Declan will have a lifetime of medical needs. Please visit our donation page to learn more about how you can help!

No amount is too small and every dollar helps our sweet boy have a better life. Most boys with Duchenne have their best years from 3-6 and then start to stiffen. Usually need a scooter, then a wheel chair around 10-12. Better therapy, more time we can spend with him and better medical care will help. The money we raise now will go towards keeping him ambulatory (walking) longer! The goal is to keep him out of a wheelchair as long as possible.
The second goal is to find a medical cure! We are working hard behind the scenes to figure out ways we can support that as well, but for now all of your donations will go to helping our sweet boy live his BEST years right now!
